Meet Myriam Maida, MA, LPC

Welcome to my virtual office. I have 10 years experience working in the mental health field, with children, teenagers, adults, and elders. I draw from the wisdom of Eastern, Western, and Shamanic traditions.

I discovered my own healing path early in life, when I knew I needed help to recover from difficult experiences. This path led me to an exploration of spirituality and wisdom traditions. I discovered that meditation, authentic relating, and somatic healing were tools that helped me come into deeper relationship with life. I received my Masters Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology in 2015 from Naropa University. This Buddhist-inspired program emphasized mindfulness and the basic goodness of all people. My approach to therapy and life mirrors this tenet – that we are all basically good, in a way that is much vaster than our conventional conceptions of “good” vs “bad.” In my mind, basic goodness means that life is sacred and beautiful, in all of its messiness, pain, and magic. Because you are alive, you are imbued with the miracle of life, and that is good.

A recent transplant from Colorado, I live in Louisville, KY with my sweetheart.
